TITLE : NO LAZINESS

TEXT:“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11).

An author on productivity said ‘Great ideas and concepts abound, but when they are not projected with commitment, they end up as fantasy’. He went further to say “If a dream must come true somebody must work it out. It is a great mistake not to commit to the future you like. The difference between a champion and a common man is commitment.” Do you aspire to be great in life? Then you mustn’t give place to laziness and procrastination. Everyone in the world, including you have twenty-four hours a day within which you must achieve a set goal. Since time waits for no man, you must engage in profitable ventures. Our text portrays a balanced youth: not slothful in business — academically and secularly; fervent in spirit — having a positive enthusiasm in spite of challenges; and serving the Lord—living a godly life and working for God. The Scripture reminds us that in all labour there is profit (Proverbs 14:23). As you avoid laziness, the Almighty God will make you excel in Jesus` name.
  • Challenge: If you aspire to be great in life, avoid idleness.
  • Prayer:O Lord, Deliver me from slothfulness.
  • Further Reading:Ecclesiastes 9:10
  • Quotation:In all labour there is profit.
